The “Surripa“, is the oldest pedestrian street in Orvieto, a historic trail which is called the slope leading to the Capuccini Monastery.
This route has been recently fitted and restored thanks to the of Cai Association of Orvieto (a group of excursions nature and trekking enthusiasts). From Orvieto center walk down and then continue down the Strada dell’Arcone and then take up the road marked with the local signpost the “Convento dei Cappuccini”. Go up until you reach the monastery and then exit on a dirt road that leads in the direction of the Ponte del Sole, go down and you come to a chain, from here go left then continue until you reach a small bridge.
Cross it and always going to the left until you reach the Montacchione waterfall with its impressive leap of 30 meters set in an unspoiled place.
