A typical Romanesque church, which was rebuilt by Franciscans in accordance with the ancient tradition of Orvieto. They wanted the Romanesque classic “default style” for their sacred buildings.
The first building of the original church is believed to be built around the year one thousand, however, it is more commonly dated to the year 1291.
Freely visited the interior has three naves with classical columns, and despite the seemingly barren walls of the church they were once covered with frescoes, which today only a small part remains.
