A 31 km challenging loop with stretches of dirt road, best for those accustomed to pedaling.
From Orvieto go down through Orvieto Scalo and towards Ciconia, just past the roundabout, over the Paglia river bridge, turn right on Via delle Querce, from here to the first fork to the right towards Camorena. Go about 1.5 km and turn left going up towards Osarella. Here the road begins to climb about 6 km uphill with fairly challenging stretches. It moves around a beautiful green landscape of cultivated fields and especially fertile vineyards and olive groves.
When you reach Osarella keep left and go up to about 3 km of which the last part is well beaten dirt road. After this climb you find yourself in front of the town Capretta where you see the steeple of the picturesque church. From here you take a right and go up the main road 79a towards Colonnetta Prodo.
From this point there are 4 km of paved road with several steep switchbacks, and climbs up to the town Colonnetta Prodo at about 550 meters high. At this point continue right towards Prodo and after 3 km of gentle descent in Prato turn right towards Osa. Osa is located in a very picturesque landscape between olive trees and atmospheres of another time. The village of Osa is very charming and picturesque with its narrow road running through the few buildings that still define it. From this magical village you have already entered the protected area of the Tiber River Park. The road continues to fall until it becomes steeper and challenging as it is unpaved and with several hairpin bends. The path continues for a total of 5 km nearly to the shores of Corbara lake and the Podere Olivella.
Having arrived at this point of the path you take the paved road back along the Corbara lake. The surrounding landscape is beautiful with the lake and with a series of small bridges to cross until you reach the village of Corbara with its beautiful castle.
From Corbara continue on the flat road immersed in the scenery of the countryside and you will have to travel about 15 km to return to Orvieto through stretches more or less challenging with small climbs and descents that lead towards Ciconia and Orvieto Scalo.
