This site is located near the entrance of the city of Orvieto, in the vicinity of Saint Patrick’s Well and just before Piazza Cahen. It sits in a shady area full of greenery with a pleasant walk that follows the perimeter of the cliff. It is remains of an ancient Etruscan temple where you can see the stairway and some parts of the foundation and columns.
The rest of the temple, probably built in wood has been lost in time. The temple was probably built to honor Tinia, the Jupiter of the Etruscans. Some important ruins of the temple today are exposed on the Museum Faina in Piazza Duomo.
