Canyoning and Hydro Speed
An interesting itinerary for adventure and water sports lovers, to do under optimal climatic and physical conditions as the descent can last several hours and is recommended for people who already have knowledge and practice of rafting and canyoning. The location of interest is that of the village of Prodo, about forty minutes from Orvieto.
It is located in a ravine by the clear waters of Fosso Campione, fast flowing for a long stretch that then ends directly in the waters of the Corbara lake below. Along the way you descend through a steep canyon furrowed by water and generating a striking alternation of sounds and colors, the crystal-clear pools where you can dive for a refreshing swim. There are several sports clubs that organize this descent that usually can be done from the winter months until spring and the end of June, as in the summer months the gorge can be low on water.

Discovering the Pozzi della Piana cave
The Forello gorges are suggestive natural canyons generated by the flow of the Tiber river. They are located along the state road that leads from Orvieto to Todi. An area part of the Tiber river park characterized by signs of an ancient anthropization as well as rich in cavities, chasms and natural caves.
The largest is the cave of Pozzi della Piana which can be accessed from Roccaccia (near the village of Titignano). This cave is the largest travertine cavity in Umbria. Inside there are over 2 kilometers of tunnels and cavities, the most suggestive is the cavity called “Sala dei Vortici”.
Inside they have a path of over two kilometers of passages and large cavities including the Sala dei Vortici.
The cave is an ideal environment for those who love speleology and unspoiled nature, but its exploration is still recommended for people accustomed and experts to this type of sport. It is always good, in fact, for those interested, to contact associations and expert staff who will be able to accompany you safely in this suggestive underground environment.
